MAC installation help please!

I installed MAMP and it is up and running.

When I get to WordPress 5-minute install, I follow the directions, then I run into the ultimate snag (for me). Upload everything!!!!

Do I create an FTP or RDS to the Users/stanopoly/Sites/wordpress folder that MAMP instructed me to make?

Or do I add the files to my website folder and upload it via my website?

I tried both. If i open /wp-admin/install.php through my website, I get multiple errors, one of which says it is already installed.

If I try to create an FTP, I’m unsure of my settings. Do I put as my FTP host localhost/Users/stanopoly/Sites/wordpress?

Obviously I’m confused… anyone?
