macro map inside main map

    Hello, Your maps are impressive.

    I need the following:

    I would like to have a second map next to the main map showing a macro (or country) view so user can quickly get an idea where the location is located in comparison to the rest of the country.

    Sample mockup:
    overlay macro view

    1. What is the technical term for the second map? (Someone said it might be called overlay).
    2. Can your plugin do this? If not, can you recommend another plugin that does this? Or a modification that could accomplish this?

    By modification, I mean possibility of adding to your plugin the ability to do this – without spending an arm and a leg on developer costs.

    Hi there,

    We don’t offer this out of the box at all. I believe you could do something like this with multiple maps and a lightbox-like effect, but you’d have to be a developer. Short of that, i haven’t seen any other Maps plugins that do that at all.

    Hello Matt, thanks for your reply. Forget about overlaying one map over the other. How about just putting two maps next to each other, say, in an html table? I mean can your plugin handle doing two maps next to each other in the same post – both showing same location but at very different zoom levels?

    Absolutely, no problems there at all. Each map has it’s own unique ID and can be targeted with different zooms and markers and everything.
