I know this has been reported before, but I’m running the latest WordPress and the latest version of Mail Bank and still experiencing this problem. See https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/email-is-not-sending-from-from-email-address/.

I’m using Mail Bank configured to send mail via GMail using SMTP, with Login authentication. It works, but Mail Bank’s ‘From Email’ setting is apparently being ignored, since all email sent using Mail Bank appears to come from the GMail user instead of the ‘From Email’ address.

The solution provided in response to previous reports was to upgrade to the latest version of Mail Bank. Since I’m already using the latest version of Mail Bank (3.0.9), this is not an option.

I suspect that upgrading to the Pro version of Mail Bank would help, because I could override the REPLY-TO address, but this wouldn’t really fix the core problem, and I’m hesitant to spend money on Mail Bank if it doesn’t actually work as intended.

    Hi,

The problem mentioned at https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/email-is-not-sending-from-from-email-address/ was different and it was solved in the release few months ago.

In your case, it is not overriding because gmail doesn’t allow to override the email address which is used to send the emails from using smtp plugins.

However you can manually do that by changing settings in your gmail account.

Here are the steps for that :

    Change default “From” address

To always send email from a different address or alias:

    • On your computer, open Gmail.
    • In the top right, click Settings Settings and then Settings.
    • Click the Accounts and Import or Accounts tab.
    • In the “Send mail as” section to the right of the address you want to use, click make default.

    Thanks

I wasn’t aware of that GMail setting; thanks.

Sadly, it only seems to affect email sent using the GMail web client. When I send email via GMail remotely (eg. from a web store), the setting seems to be ignored.

I’ve switched to a different plugin that allows me to specify REPLY-TO (for free), and it’s working fine.

    Thanks for your help.
