• Hello.

So my users don’t get their passwords when they register, and when they try password recovery they get the error message:

The e-mail could not be sent.
Possible reason: your host may have disabled the mail() function…

    The problem is:
    1. This function works in other installs of wordpress on the same host
    2. Host support says that there is nothing wrong, that mail() option is enabled and working on my other sites

This is a fresh install. I have tried disabling all of my plugins, didn’t work.

Any idea? My host is godaddy, and I have never had problem like this before.

  • Have you tried:

    – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem? If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    – switching to the default theme to rule out any theme-specific problems?

I deactivated all plugins and switched to the default theme: same problem.

Are all of your other sites using mail() on the same server?
