    Hi,

I installed mailchimp for WP on a dev site on my local machine (localhost), had it connected to my Mailchimp API, and tested it out. Everything works fine.

I used WP-Clone to backup the entire site, and uploaded the backup file to a live site in order to ‘duplicate’ the entire settings from my local dev site (as I had set up other CSS, and plugins) to my live site.

I understand that some configurations had to be changed (from localhost) to reflect the live site, however, I could not get ‘Mailchimp for WP’ on the live site to connect to my Mailchimp API. I have changed APIs (by created new APIs on Mailchimp), but it still wouldn’t connect.

I even deleted Mailchimp for WP plugin, and reinstalled it, but still it wouldn’t connect.

Can you suggest why Mailchimp API settings wouldn’t connect?

    Thanks
    Nam

    Hey Nam,

Do you get any errors on your live site when you add the API key? Also when you add the API key and save, when the page refreshes is the API key still there in the field or does it get removed?

    Hi Harish,
Sorry I went to bed as it was quite late where I come from.

No there are no error messages, just the ‘status’ message NOT CONNECTED remaining grey. On the localhost, the status CONNECTED turns green.

Also after refresh, the API is still there.

I have changed APIs, deleted, reinstalled, etc. didn’t work.

When I filled out the form on the website, I got the message :

“Oops. Something went wrong. Please try again later”

I even deleted the code (when you created the form using the plugin) and recreated a new form, but nothing worked.

I’m tearing my hair out !!!

    Cheers
    Nam

    Hi Harish,

Thanks for your reply, where ever you are. Great support !

I visited the contact form, but it asks me for the license. I feel guilty as currently I’m using the free version for a non-profit community. Can I send you the url privately?

Do I have to buy the pro version to get your support?

    Regards
    Nam

    Hi again,

Sorry I missed a part. Please select “Pre Sales” as the subject so it would work without license and no you do not need to purchase a license.

    Hi,

I’ve just send an email directly to support with details on API and access. Can you please have a look.

    Thanks

For future reference: this turned out to be an issue due to local server settings. It was solved, and should not affect others.

    Hello Ines,

Can you tell us what the solution was? I am having the same issue – cannot connect to the MailChimp API.

    Thanks!
