    Hi

I have set up a petition with the opt-in box enabled, the 3rd party checkbox for mailchimp enabled and the API/server/audience fields filled in. The opt-in box appears on the form (I have set it to unchecked by default) and whether or not I have opted in shows in the back-end properly but when I opt in my name doesnt appear on Mailchimp’s contacts / it doesn’t send me an opt-in email (not sure if it is turned on)

I have triple checked all the fields, trying both a brand new and working elsewhere API key and tried multiple email addresses and I can’t work out where it is failing.

Is there a way to debug this?

    Thanks

Hmmm…I can’t recreate this. When I test it works as expected with the contact added to MailChimp.

Are you testing with an email address other than the one you used to log into MailChimp? MailChimp seems to have some smarts where it doesn’t add the account owner to any lists.

To answer your question, no – at the moment there isn’t any error trapping, but I may add this in future.

I have tried multiple emails which are different and I don’t believe are on the list already. My firewall was blocking the deletion of signatures so I wonder if hat might be at play again. I’ll do a test with that turned off.

In the meantime, could you confirm whether the mailchimp aspect triggers at the point of confirming the email or at the point of signing please?

    Thanks for your help!

It submits to mailchimp when confirming when that is enabled. Do you have confirmations on? I didn’t test that ??

Yes I do, sorry I thought I mentioned that (I reworded my first query so many times I must have drafted it into oblivion)

    Hey Dan,

Happy Dance! I found the issue and have fixed it in 2.14.14 which I am about to release.

Thanks for raising this issue, I appreciate it.

Sorry for the delay, that’s how things go with a free plugin.
