    After updating to 2.7 I’m getting the message below in admin:

    Mailchimp for Woocommerce has not added the webhook to Mailchimp, visit the plugin settings page and synchronize your store.

    I’ve been to the settings page, all seems OK and have re-synced as instructed.

    My log shows:

    2022-07-08T04:56:08+00:00 NOTICE action_scheduler.queue_job :: MailChimp_WooCommerce_WebHooks_Sync queued
    2022-07-08T04:56:11+00:00 ERROR webhook :: <p>url: We couldn’t verify the URL is working. Please double check and try again. HTTP Code: 403</p>

    Any suggestions please?

    @thewebsmiths please let me work on this with the Mailchimp API team and we will have some input tomorrow for you. The little bit of troubleshooting that we did just now in the plugin has us scratching our heads even more – but if I had to guess, this may be related to some sort of server to server issue that’s hard to spot without digging deep on the Mailchimp end. We will figure this out. ??

    I’ll respond here tomorrow with any findings!

    @thewebsmiths this was a LOT harder to figure out than we had expected ?? Turns out that your web host is blocking the user agent header and the request is never even making it to the wordpress rest api… it’s being blocked before it even gets there by a gateway service of sorts.

    User-Agent => “MailChimp.com WebHook Validator

    Can you please reach out to your host and ask them why this is happening? We’ve been able to verify that the post request does make it over to your server when that user agent is changed.

    Also for the record if you could let us know who your host is, maybe we can reach out directly and try to rectify this for anyone else ??

    Keep us posted!

    Thanks @ryanhungate

    Sorry it’s been such a challenge. I’ve opened a ticket wit the host (names.co.uk) and will report back when they respond (probably tomorrow now).

    Sounds good @thewebsmiths. At least we know WHY the webhook can’t be set up at this point. We were able to verify the URL after that modification in a development environment. That just means once they fix this for you, it will “stick” the next time we try to set it up. Just let me know when you get that response and we can continue.

    Hi @ryanhungate
    Support came back to me with:

    There was an aggressive anti-bot block in place for Apache, I’ve disabled that for now which should allow their checks to pass.

    I still see the message in admin and have saved the plugin settings, is there something else we need to do? Do we also need to restore your modified plugin files?
    Thanks

    @thewebsmiths i was finally able to fix that webhook for you just now. Let me know if you’re still seeing that message. Hopefully the “aggressive anti bot block” doesn’t get turned back on ?? I’m not sure why that would be blocking the Mailchimp posts because it’s coming from a legit source. Plus it’s just a user agent header that helps identify where it’s coming from – anyone can put whatever value in that field.

    Hi @ryanhungate
    Yeah, “aggressive anti bot block” sounds like a bit of showboating to me! They seldom tell you exactly what was going on.
    The message is gone ?? all is well with my world again.
    Thank you so much for all your help, sorry it ended up being such a headache and nothing to do with your plugin.
    Do I need to restore the amended plugin files, or have you done that or are they OK left until the next update?
    Thanks again

    @thewebsmiths you’re good to go. I commented out everything that was being done for tests, and you’re all clear to turn off the support tool if you want to do that now.

    Thanks so much for your patience! We learned something new today ??

    Same here! what is the final solution?

    I have started my own thread @ryanhungate but would maybe help others who may be browsing to detail the fina solution or publish a KB article?
