Previously, the plugin would access the URL to my mailchimp form on the mailchimp website. I realise that the short code is different now, and I have created the form in the new version of the plugin.
The form shows again where before I got a “deprecation” error, but when I hit the submit button, I get a general error “whoops, something went wrong”…I have filled out the form correctly and all the check boxes are appropriately checked. I have the AJAX setting turned off and have tried both on and off to no avail. I have no idea what the error is as there is nothing in the description.

One other quick bug: In the country field which is a drop down box there is nothing available to select…Not sure what is up there..

    Hmmm, I take that back.

I tried adding a drop-down via that form designer and it worked.

Take a look I used it to add “Another Drop down”

The bad thing is we are at square one, because I can’t tell why your drop down is not populating.

Did you try going to Easy Forms > Settings > API Cache Settings and clicking the “Clear MailChimp API Cache” button?

Can you try one more thing for me?

Remove that country field from the form in the Form Builder, hit update form, then add it and hit update form again.

Evan informed me that when the field gets added to the form builder, the data for that specific field is retrieved from the API and stored locally, on that form.

I have cleared the api cache a couple times, but without a result. I did as you said; removed country field, updated, cleared cache, added field, updated–no change; it still doesn’t want to populate…should I just make a whole new form on the mailchimp website? I can’t think that will make a difference.

I reset the default place holder in the countries box (United Kingdom) and now the submit button works. I don’t get the confirmation email, but at least it says “thanks for subscribing” instead of “error”…

I also made the country field NOT required in mailchimp and on the plugin; but even with the reset, the box still doesn’t populate.

I am not sure what it can be. I did test adding new drop-down options in MailChimp and they did not add to the WordPress form. But after removing the field from the form builder, adding it back again and updating they were there.

I’m going to have Evan look into it.

    Hi shootnscore26

I am really sorry to say this issue has us stumped. We can’t reproduce it on our end.

The next step would be to try to troubleshoot using your MailChip API key, however, I understand if you do not want to share that information with us.

If you are willing, please email me directly at [email protected]

    Thank you!

    Hi shootnscore26,

We haven’t heard back from you in a week, so I am going to close this out.

However, if you need more help, email me directly and if we come up with a solution I’ll post it here.

    Thank you!
    -Tracy
