• Hi there!
I set up a mailchimp campaign to send out an email based on an rss feed from my site.

If I use larger sized images, they distort (in that, they are narrow) in Gmail. According to Mailchimp, this is an issue with part of the rss code WordPress is generating that causes the distortion in Gmail.

The code in WP shows as [caption id="attachment_977" align="aligncenter" width="300"] but in the RSS feed it is coming up as <div id=”attachment_97″ class=”wp-caption aligncenter” style=”width: 300px”>.

Apparently it’s the “Style =”width: 300 px” that is causing the issue.

How do I change the feed’s formatting attributes in WP?
Is there a plugin you recommend that will over ride the WP RSS where I can customize/rectify?
    Thank you!!

  • We are having the same problem. When I use the Apple Mail app, the images look great. In gmail, the images are narrower, but the height must not adjust right since everything looks squished.

    Any updates?

Hey Katyinacorner – I have had no luck, been using smaller images in my posts ??

Well, I am using RSS posts to e-mail. However, to get the feed the exact length I want, I’m manually copying the html portion of everything before the “Read More” to an excerpt. That way, the entire excerpt ends up on the e-mail.

When I do this, it copies the image size in the post. I just don’t want a bunch of extra steps to make it look right in gmail. I also don’t want a bunch of resized images on the server slowing the site down. But it’s not worth putting lower quality images on the site…

    Anyone???

I have the same problem, did you find any solution?
