I am trying to understand how the Abandoned Cart flow works if a guest user clicks on RETURN TO ORDER in their Mailpoet Abandoned Cart email on a different device? This would obviously be a very common situation.
Order may have been started on mobile phone and they receive the email on their desktop.
They start their order on home computer and get the email on their work computer.

This issue renders the Abandoned Cart email pointless as it directs them to an empty cart so we no doubt lose their order.

Do you have a workaround for this or do we need a different plugin?
    Thanks

    Hi there @haydenwoodmarketing,

    Thanks for reaching out!

The Go to Cart button in checkout pages is a regular button with a link to the cart page on the site.

WooCommerce will be in charge of the display of the cart after they click on the link, using the information available on the browser session.

If they are a guest on a different browser, it will display the message that the cart is empty because they’d be accessing the site through a different browser session.

So I don’t think there is a workaround in scenarios with guest users using different devices/browsers.

    Thank you!

    Thanks for your reply @guicmazeredo

I note that there are other plugins that have managed to workaround this challenge.
    For example:
    https://woocommerce.com/products/abandoned-cart-recovery/

I would guess at least 50% of abandoned cart emails will be opened on a different device considering the simple use case of mobile vs desktop users.

It would be good if Mailpoet cannot handle the task that you can suggest a plugin that is compatible with Mailpoet as obviously Sending potential customers to an Empty Cart is a really disappointing outcome for any business.

Surprised this hasn’t been addressed earlier as we only had to test Mailpoet’s Abandoned Cart function for a few days before someone experienced this issue.

    Hi there @haydenwoodmarketing,

I do understand that the way that’s currently implemented isn’t ideal. This could be improved with some kind of redirection.

It would be great if you could add it as a suggestion here?https://feedback.mailpoet.com

For an immediate solution, I believe that the plugin you linked should work with MailPoet. Another alternative would be AutomateWoo (it has not only an abandoned cart feature but many other types of automation). Both have a 30-day refund policy so you could give them a try.

    I hope this helps!

    Hi there @haydenwoodmarketing,
