A client has been using Mailpoet since before I came across her website.

    She is using version 2.0.29.

    She reports:

I created a post yesterday and scheduled it to be published this morning.
It was published no problems and also shared to Facebook fine.
When I went to this URL /wp-admin/admin.php?page=wysija_campaigns it stated that the emails will be send within the next few minutes. It looked ready to send them, stating 0 our of 111, and there was a pause button also. However, nothing happened. So I clicked “send immediately” and it started sending the first batch of 50, then I clicked 2 more times to send the 2. batch of 50 and the remaining 11. and that worked fine I believe.

So it seems manual sending is working but not scheduled sending.

There’s nothing in the /error_log or /wp-admin/error_log relating to Mailpoet.

    Webserver is Lightspeed.

  • I’m having the same problem. I’d like to hear what I can do about it.

As soon as you create a newsletter and click “Send” it’ll only be sent in the next cycle specified in the Send With tab. Clicking on “send immediately” doesn’t mean the automatic delivery is not going to happen. This looks like a lack of patience instead of a plugin malfunction : )

In any case, creating a server side Cron Job will also help: https://support.mailpoet.com/knowledgebase/configure-cron-job/

Might be a good idea to ask a few more questions before calling someone impatient. It can be a little insulting.
I’ve waited 8-10 hours on 3-4 separate occasions for the newsletter to send. It used to be finished in about 20 minutes. I’ve tried setting up a Cron job and it made no difference. What else can I try?

Hi. The “send with” settings are:

Send with a 3rd party: activated.
    SMTP host: smtp.sendgrid.net
    Web API: enabled.
    Send: 70 emails per hour.

    Test email was successfully sent.

So, I wonder if my client needs to wait at least an hour for the first batch of 70 to be sent? That is not a large amount of emails to send is it?

Also, her website is not receiving a lot of traffic, perhaps 300 page views a month, which is 10 a day, which is less than 1 per 2 hours.

I wonder if we can increase the frequency of sending?

I’ve changed it to 70 emails every 10 minutes.

Finally, “Enable cron job” was ticked, and
“I’ll setup a cron job on my own server” was selected, but no cron job was set up in cPanel. Perhaps this was the problem. I’ve created a cron job now.

I’ll let you know how we go.
