    Hello
In a site with woocommerce + Booster for Woocommerce, together with the new order email, a pdf file created by Booster is also sent as an attachment.
On this site I still had the old version of MailPoet2 and a few days ago I decided to replace it with MailPoet3.
Now I realize that all Woocommerce New Order emails no longer contain the pdf attachment generated with Booster for Woocommerce.
In this case, Mail Poet is not asked to manage woocommerce emails, but it prevents the pdf from being sent.
In other sites with similar configuration this does not happen. But on this site, yes.
Obviously I restored MailPoet2, because for us the attached pdf is more important than an occasional newsletter.
But MailPoet3 often causes very strange problems …
    Thanks

    Hi there @gdm57,

Just to clarify, when you say “Mail Poet is not asked to manage woocommerce emails”, do you mean you are not customizing the WooCommerce email templates with the MailPoet template manager? Or do you mean you are not sending the WooCommerce emails via our MailPoet Sending Service?

The MailPoet Sending Service does not currently support sending file attachments, so if you were sending via our service, then what you describe would likely be expected.

However, if you are sending via your own host or third party sending method, then just having MailPoet active shouldn’t cause attachments to be removed.

Please clarify the point above and describe the specific situation. If you ARE sending all site emails via our MailPoet Sending Service, you could try switching the “Send all site’s emails with…” setting under MailPoet > Settings > Advanced to use the default WordPress method, and see if that resolves the issue with the attachments.

Please let me know how that goes, or if you have any questions!

    Thanks for your answer.
MailPoet is used to send newsletters only; no other type of email: neither those of Woocommerce, nor others from the site.
However, only the action of activating MailPoet blocks the forwarding of pdf attachments to order emails.
Similarly, the blocking of attachments occurs if we use the sending service via the site or via external smtp. We have never used MailPoet sending here.

It was enough to install MailPoet3, transfer subscribers from MailPoet2, etc., and nothing else and Booster plus for woocommerce no longer sends the pdf attachments to the order emails.
If I deactivate MailPoet3, everything returns to normal and the pdfs can be attached to newly ordered emails.

On this site I did the test by activating and deactivating all plugins one by one and the one causing the problem is MailPoet3.
In other sites with woocommerce + Booster + MailPoet3 only for newsletters, the blocking of pdf attachments does not occur.
    Everything is very strange.

    Thanks a lot.

    Hi there @gdm57,

Thank you for explaining all the testing you’ve done so far.

I don’t have a copy of “Booster Plus”, however I set up WooCommerce Bookings on my personal site, since it attaches an .ics file to the Booking reminder email. Testing things out, I found the following:

    – With MailPoet active and set to send ALL site emails through MailPoet Sending Service, the email did not include the attachment (expected since the MailPoet Sending Service doesn’t support attachments)
    – With MailPoet active, and site emails set to send with the default WordPress method (i.e. only MailPoet emails going through MailPoet Sending Service, but WooCommerce order emails going through WordPress sending), then the email included the file attachment
    – With MailPoet deactivated, the email included the attachment as well

Based on that, I can see that just having MailPoet active shouldn’t automatically strip out or affect the attachments on other non-MailPoet emails.

From your testing, it would seem to indicate a possible conflict between Booster and MailPoet. However, you also mentioned that other sites using Woo + Booster + MailPoet 3 do not experience the same issue, which makes it even stranger. From my understanding of your last message, it’s only on this particular site, and not actually something specific to Booster + MailPoet, correct?

Yes, this happens only on this site and the problem disappears only by disabling MailPoet3 and no other plugins, except of course those involved: woocommerce+booster.
I have several online sales sites to manage and they are all with the same theme and mostly the same plugins, at least those useful for online sales. Only on this there is this abnormal behavior.
I can remove the MailPoet3 plugin, clean the database and then re-install MailPoet3: it’s the only attempt I haven’t made.
Maybe something went wrong during the installation…
I’ll let you know if that solves the problem.

    Hi there @gdm57,

    Thank you for confirming that!

Yes, removing and doing a fresh reinstall could be a good next step here.

The fact that we are unable to reproduce the issue on our side, and that you are only seeing it on that single site would seem to indicate it’s not actually MailPoet itself, but something about having MailPoet active on that specific site.

Please let us know how it goes!

    Hi @gdm57,

We haven’t heard back from you in a while, so I’m going to mark this as resolved – we’ll be here if and/or when you are ready to continue.

    Hello
    I found the difference.
In sites that used MailPoet2 and then switched to MailPoet3, it is still possible to send woocommerce order emails with attachments (products with Booster for Woocommerce).
On sites where MailPoet3 was first installed, pdf attachments to orders are not shipped even if mailpoet is not asked to manage Woocommerce emails.
But this is a really bad thing…

At least this is true if PDFs are created with Booster for Woocommerce: but this plugin has so many options that make it really valuable in a woocommerce store.
It’s faster to change the Newsletter plugin.

To remove MailPoet3 from checking all mail on the site, even if it was not required by us, I had to install the WP Mail SMTP plugin: now MailPoet3 sends with your smtp, everything else with the smtp of our mail account and then the pdf are attached to the orders. You should improve this setting of MailPoet3 with your shipping service, because in some cases we see that from big problems.
