• A few weeks ago I posted in the forum about a problem I discovered. When Mailpoet tried to autoupdate, instead it completely disappeared my entire MP installation. I then had to reinstall MP.

I discovered why this happened. I was initially using the premium MP version. But then after MP removed inactive subscribers I went below the 1,000 threshold and it didn’t pay to keep using premium. So I reverted to the free version.

I didn’t realize I should deactivate or remove the premium plugin and it remained active. There must be some MP behavior that erases the free plugin if a user isn’t paying for premium but continues to have the premium plugin active.

I would suggest that for users who switch from premium to the free version you should warn them to remove the premium plugin.

I have a related question: while MP was removed I’ve published 2 posts. Is there any way to tell MP to send out those 2 posts to subscribers even though I published them when MP wasn’t installed? If not, is there a way I can republish the posts in such a way that MP will detect them as new posts and send them?

  • Hi there!

Since MailPoet Premium is free up to 1,000 subscribers, it is safe to keep both plugins installed and active on your site.

Have you checked the server logs to analyze why the plugin files were removed? It might be related to issues when updating it instead of due to the Premium plugin.

Unfortunately, it is not possible to send already published posts with the Post Notification. In this case, you can create a standard newsletter and add those posts to it.
