MailPoet is GREAT: Finally it works!!
-
Set up with SendGrid and MP to solve problems with upgrades and breakage of several plugins.
Highly Recommend! What we get for free is extremely good.
The only lazy whine I have is that perfection needs just a single-button “newsletter” template that is only and just for sending an entire single post copied from the post edit area (ignoring read more…) and sending it out to a list(s). Logo and Footers editable on the template. Send to a list in batches per run is icing. 1st 50, 2nd 50, 3rd 50 – choices of 10 through 350 per batch.
Sites forced to live on GoDaddy Managed WordPress are VERY limited in what works. SMTP ports are closed (have spent hours with GD techs).
THIS DOES!! with only SendGrid API web-call setup. MailPoet has VERY good instructions/help sections.
Please notify your list when and if you have this working with Amazon SES API like SendGrid – although most will need to pay 10 cents per 1K emails to use it.
Think about a $4.25 or less payment tier for plain ‘ole wordpress sites that are just not generating more than the Post by Email and comment subscriptions – no e-commerce – just trying hard in email hell to get the people their posts they double opt-in for. If you do, folks can afford both the software and the person who makes it all work.
