Hello, I’ve installed Mailpoet a while ago, but never used it, so uninstalled. But by coincidence I discover that Mailpoet is still running in the background doing ten thousands of scheduled jobs??

    The log shows per rule

    1. 2023-03-08 12:18:25 +0000
action failed via WP Cron: Scheduled action for mailpoet/cron/daemon-trigger will not be executed as no callbacks are registered.
    2. 2023-03-08 12:18:25 +0000
      action started via WP Cron
    3. 2023-03-08 12:16:12 +0000
      action created

And here is a screenshot of the scheduled actions.

Why on earth is MP still running? How can I stop this?

    Hi there @yolandal ????!

Thank you for reaching out to MailPoet Support!

But by coincidence I discover that Mailpoet is still running in the background doing ten thousands of scheduled jobs??

Oh, that’s unexpected indeed. Could you please share a screenshot of WP-Admin > Plugins? Or can you at least double-check that both MailPoet and MailPoet Premium are deactivated? I assume that you have already checked that but I need to make sure.

Looking forward to hearing back from you!

    Cheers!

    Hello, thank you for responding.

I’ve installed MP months ago, but never used it.

Here are the screenshots of my plugins and scheduled actions, filtered on Mailpoet. I also have them in a txt file.

    Hello again @yolandal ,

Thank you for getting back to us and sending over additional information.

It is possible that when you uninstalled Mailpoet, some of its components remained in your WordPress installation, which could explain why the scheduled jobs are still running.

To stop Mailpoet from running these scheduled jobs, you can try the following steps:

    1. Reinstall Mailpoet: Reinstalling Mailpoet and then uninstalling it again can help remove any remaining components that could be causing the issue.
    2. Disable the Mailpoet Cron Daemon: In your WordPress dashboard, go to the Mailpoet settings page and navigate to the “Advanced” tab. There, you will find an option to disable the Mailpoet Cron Daemon. Once disabled, the scheduled jobs should stop running.
    3. Clear your WordPress Cron: You can also try clearing your WordPress Cron by installing a plugin like WP Control. This will remove any pending scheduled jobs and could help resolve the issue.

    I hope this helps.

    Have a great day.

Thank you for all the tips.

Installing and uninstalling again, didn’t work. So I installed it again to check the settings. But the option in the Advanced setting is not there, the only thing I see is

So there is no option to disable it. I do think this will solve the problem, but how can I do this?

    Thank you, Yolanda

    Hi there @yolandal,

Can you please check if new scheduled actions are actually created with the MailPoet plugin disabled? On the screenshot, I see only the ones scheduled on March 8th, and the MailPoet plugin doesn’t delete the old task entries upon deactivation.

Changing the cron setting from your screenshot to Linux cron should stop new entries as well.

Let me know how it goes!
