I have installed the free version of MailPoet3, it seems that everything is configured correctly. I tested with a simple welcome email which seems to get sent, however it is not recieved. I tried to use the test plugin mentioned in Mailpoet set up document (Check & Log Email) and that seems to send ok. So it seems the PHP side is working.

I am being hosted on GoDaddy and I asked them if anything needs to be enable server side. because I also have an email address associated with my domain and have Office360, they say this is a web development issue and not their problem.

    They say…
“I have checked here from our server you are using office 365 server to receive or send email.
And unfortunately it is out of our scope of support to check with plugin issue.
it is a web developer thing.
But yes everything is perfectly fine on our end.”

Is there a way I can troubleshoot this problem? Is it a known issue?

  • Hi there @bernwoz,

    Thanks for reaching out!

Can you please clarify if you’re using MailPoet Sending Service or a third-party sending method?

AFAIK I’m using the MailPoet sending service. I think the problem was, I didn’t have a SSL certificate, so the email service wouldn’t talk to my web site as it considered it risky. I have since installed a SSL cert (its hosted on GoDaddy) but I now have a new problem!
I upgraded WordPress to 5.6.2 and upgraded MailPoet to the latest release. I now cannot add to the email list. I’m using a MailPoet form to enter name and email, but it gives me the error “This value seems to be invalid”.

    Hi @bernwoz,

We can confirm this is a bug and we’re already working on a fix for it.

The problem with the subscription form is related to the Gutenberg block. If you switch to the MailPoet subscription shortcode, it works as expected.

Let us know if the issue persists!

Is this bug specific to version 3.60.1 or is it also in earlier versions?
Also please be more specific about how to use the “mailpoet subscription shortcode” or direct me to the documentation.
    Thanks.

OK, got this to work with a short code – thanks for the tip.
It also sends the email, so I will stick with using the shortcode for now.
