• I made a simple Mailpoet theme for my site. I followed the mailpoet guide and used Sketchy as the theme base (https://docs.mailpoet.com/article/77-guide-to-creating-your-own-mailpoet-theme). I use the latest mailpoet as of today (2.7.7)

I changed the header.png, divider.png and footer.png to my own design. i updated the CSS file. Didn’t add any new lines. Just updated the color values.

I made a ZIP of the folder containing the files. Then i upload with mailpoet and i get a Not valid error: “Your theme is not valid. It can only contain files that have the following extensions: “png”, “jpg”, “jpeg”, “gif”, “css”, “txt””

    I got these files:

    My_theme_folder
      |- [bookmarks]
      | |- facebook.png
      | |- youtube.png
      |
      |- [images]
      | |- divider.png
      | |- footer.png
      | |- header.png
      |
      |- screenshot.png
      |- style.css
      |- thumbnail.png

    What am i doing wrong?

Edit: I just uploaded it with FTP. Got my theme working, but odd why the upload-method does not work!? Any knowledge on this?

  • The upload didn’t work because you probably have some hidden Mac files inside your .zip file. That prevents it from being uploaded. They are .DS_Store files for Mac or Thumbs.db for Windows.
