The [mailpoet_page] shortcode isn’t rendering, althought the [mailpoet_manage_subscription] shortcode works fine in the same page.

    – I did select the Confirmation and Success pages in MailPoet > Settings > Unsubscribe
    – I use the Preview buttons and test it with Unsubscribe links in actual emails

Other answers to this question relate to a problem with the theme, but why is the [mailpoet_manage_subscription] shortcode then working?

    Thank you in advance

    Thanks

  • +1 I just filed a support request for the same issue. This has worked before with the same tech stack. Nothing has changed as far as the theme, plugins, etc.

    Thanks!

    Hi there,

Most often, trouble/confusion around this comes from the fact that just putting the [mailpoet_page] shortcode on a page and then viewing the page won’t work (even if that page is set as the Unsubscribe page in MailPoet settings). This is because the URL needs the full set of attributes at the end, including the data section that is used to match up which subscriber is unsubscribing (and which email they clicked, etc) — something like this:

    https://example.com?mailpoet_router&endpoint=subscription&action=confirm_unsubscribe&data=eyJxdWV1ZU[...]

In other words, just visiting a custom Unsubscribe page directly (example.com/unsubscribe/) won’t render, and will just show the [mailpoet_page] shortcode.

In your case though, you mentioned that you had also tested by clicking the Unsubscribe link in actual emails as well (which is the missing step for most users).

    • In your email in the editor, is the URL set to [link:subscription_unsubscribe_url]? (like in this screenshot: https://d.pr/i/ieVOdt)
    • Does the URL after you click it in the email include all the attributes like the example above?

Please send over the URL from your email so we can take a look as well.
