main page links

Hey there…. I made my first website and blog in 2 days but I need a little help. I don’t want wordpress to be my main page so I have a link to the blog on my landing page. I cant figure out a way to make a link in wordpress to return to the main page. I went through the create links section but no links appeared. Also, where can I find info on customizeing the look of the templates?
