Main page problem

Hello all,
I have this problem : i want to change the picture on my main page, I upload the one i want, i go theme options and i write the <img scr=”pic location”/> code and i click save. When i check my main page, the default one is gone but the new one is not there. Its just blank.
Please help…
I watched videos on youtube, copied every step and i failed.
