  • you can’t have index.html and index.php in same directory and expect both to work
    index.html has precedence over index.php.
you need to decide which you want and do away with the other

I tried deleting index.html but somehow the problem is persisting ??

Even without the index.html file, it still loads the same page… I don’t know why or what page it is loading…

Have you cleared your cache? Because I’m not seeing this *at all*. I see your blog. Loads up immediately.

Wow, I have no idea what happened… it works now and I haven’t done anything…

I know Google has a cache but it is possible to have that on a server as well?

Anywhoo, thanks guys for taking the time to help me. It is very appreciated.

    it’s your browser caching
to clear browser cache when needed do a hard refresh
ctrl + F5 on keyboard at same time

Hi, I have a similar problem, the index.php doesn’t load.

    I have my blog here.. https://russiangirlsint.com/blog/ .
    https://russiangirlsint.com/blog/index.php shows up https://russiangirlsint.com/index.html !.

    the blog’s admin works fine, https://russiangirlsint.com/wp-admin/index.php !!

Please anyone let me know what could be wrong…

Same problem here. If I delete index.html it still doesn’t display index.php, instead it tries to open something called ‘~file”

If I explicity reference index.php in the url, it loads index.html instead!

    Ctrl+F5 makes no impact

ctrl + F5 is for IE. Hold down the shift key + ctrl + R for Firefox (or hold down the shift key and click the refresh icon).
