After re designing one of the sites with a new theme (Enigma) the site worked, and now when you try to view it shows the maintenance page and no one seems to be able to view the site. I have disabled the maintenance and have wiped the text on that page, but it still appears. It has been a week and don’t really want to switch the wp security off to test. Any idea?
    Thank you
ps. It did the same with the old version of WP and as the last resort I have updated to the latest with no results

Did you delete your cache if you have any cache plugin? Can you disable all your other plugins except this one and try again to uncheck the Maintenance feature if it is still active.

Yes. I have also disabled the Cache plugin, no changes. The maintenance feature was unchecked and still is. Also, we are getting the old maintenance page which no longer exists

Did you also FTP into your server to make sure that the cache is deleted?

    (@naderh)

    No. I haven’t done that

The reason why I asked you to check your server is because of your comment….

Also, we are getting the old maintenance page which no longer exists

That to me sounds like a cache problem. Check your theme and make sure your theme does not have cache capabilities. If it does can you also delete the cache.

I’m looking at this and will be back with you shortly. Thank you once more

Thanks That was it. The cache plug in was causing the issue. once it was deleted and taken off from the FTP the site is back to normal. Thank you once more.
