Im using the plugin called maintence mode from https://sw-guide.de/wordpress/plugins/maintenance-mode/.
But its not working corrrectly, It should let all logged in users still access the site (or admins anyway) but its doesnt seem to be doing that. When you log into the adminstration link on the spalsh page it goes to the wordpress dashboard but it wont let me see the actuall site.

I’ve enabled my account to allow access on maintenence but it still doesnt work.

  • It may not be compatible with 2.3.1. If you’re using this plug for theming, try this plug-in. It’s compatible with the newest version of WP.

If it is of any help, I am currently using Maintenance Mode version 3.2 on two test installations of WordPress 2.3.1 without any admin access problems. You may want make sure your version of the plugin is current. Perhaps there may also be a conflict with another plugin that is in use.

Update: I just confirmed that any of my user accounts with a level less than that of administrator can log in, but are redirected back to the maintenance splash page when clicking on “view site” in the dashboard. It sounds like you may simply have a user permission error.

You may find this of interest as well if you have not seen it yet.

    Role Manager plugin.

    Best wishes.
