I am looking how to solve the connection issue with the MainWP site manager.

I searched your support tickets and opened a ticket with MainWP, but for what I see they could still not have investigated this further. So maybe could you help me here but I really don’t know where to start.

As sais this plugin is meant to connect a site admin to another one. sadly it doesn’t work on my sites using W3 Total cache, which is a big issue.

For my actual basic tests it seems that the issue is related to Page-cache.

Do you have any advices of settings that could be updated to solve this ?

    Hello @tdechangy

I am sorry about the issue you are experiencing and I am happy to assist you with this.
As you may understand there is no way that we can test the W3TC with all the plugins out there and especially with a plugin that just has 10000+ installs.
What I can see from their documentation, you should not use W3 Total Cache on your MainWP Dashboard site, since its recommended running the MainWP Dashboard on a dedicated website that only for Main WP Dashboard and there is no need for caching there. So you should use W3 Total Cache only on child sites.
    I hope this helps!
    Thanks!

    Thx Marko,
    – The plugin has in fact far more installs, near 500k probably (look the child plugin numbers).
    – I don’t use W3TC for the main WP site, only for child sites.
There is the issue to be found around page caching.

Any ideas will be transmitted to the MainWP tram.

    Hello @tdechangy

    Thank you for the information.
Is caching enabled for logged in users in Performance>Page Cache?
    Thanks!

I tried to disable cache for logged in users, and also Compatibility mode (separately), but it didn’t fix.

From MainWP forum, one said this :

This is a theory that I have:

W3 Total cache acts as a reverse proxy (sort of) by making static html pages and each request is being re-routing to those files and only to those files.

So this could mean; a call to MainWP child is also being re-routed but it has no way to handle it properly.

Here is a screenshot of my actual settings for page cache using enhanced disk (sorry it’s a french site)

I could also export my settings below the general menu if this can be handy.

    Hello @tdechangy

Just to confirm, the issue is gone if you disable Page caching?
    Thanks!

Yes, that’s why I look for the correct setting to allow MainWP connection while enabling Page caching.

    Hello @tdechangy

Thank you for the information and I am sorry for the late reply.
It simply seems that the plug-in you are using has compatibility issues with Caching.
Possibly you can try adding the home URL’s to Performance>Page Cache>Aliases and see if it works. Or try changing the caching method.
    I hope this helps!
