major bug in 2.2 – loss of theme presentation value

    I’ve seen this a lot but cannot fully pin down what triggers it – after several edits and uploads using an html editor working on a theme and/or style sheet, the site suddenly defaults to the “default” theme whereas it was using the custom theme prior.

    I can go to the presentation options and re-select the theme, but the real question is WHY and WHAT triggers this to happen?

    I’ve seen mention of this problem by others and wonder if it is a known issue in 2.2 and fixed in 2.3 (though I see many reports of major 2.3 problems, so I am not into updating just yet)…

    Anyone?

    OK, I’ve seen some mention and finally a link to the bug:

    which indicates that the most likely reason this occurs (and matches my incidents entirely) is that I am editing and uploading the style sheet (using FTP) while someone requests content or a file in the site (site active).

    I’ll mark this resolved, at least as to WHY.
