• I normally use the Firefox browser, but I noticed a problem (mentioned at the end), so I switched over to IE to see if the same thing was happening there and ended up discovering something far worse. In IE 8 and 9, there are several serious problems with the plugin’s admin area. They are listed below.

    1) I get the following error messages:

Warning: Cannot modify header information – headers already sent by (output started at /home/content/75/8296575/html/spiritualmigrations/wp-content/themes/weaver-ii-pro/functions.php:2181) in /home/content/75/8296575/html/spiritualmigrations/wp-includes/option.php on line 568

Warning: Cannot modify header information – headers already sent by (output started at /home/content/75/8296575/html/spiritualmigrations/wp-content/themes/weaver-ii-pro/functions.php:2181) in /home/content/75/8296575/html/spiritualmigrations/wp-includes/option.php on line 569

These messages only appear when I am in this plugin’s admin section.

    2) When I am in the plugin’s admin section, very weird things happen to the WordPress menu. It starts out blank except for the plugin’s options. If you run the cursor over it, the menu will partially collapse, menu items and links overlapping, and doing other strange things.

    3) The Manage Galleries page gets pushed down below the WP menu.

    4) The Manage Slides page is completely messed up in ways it would be hard to describe.

These problems do not appear in Firefox. I have not tried any other browser. Thinking that it was perhaps a corrupted installation of the plugin, I deleted it and did a fresh install directly from WP, then checked again before doing any kind of configuration or creating any slides. The problem was still there. I checked on two different computers, one with Windows 7 and IE 9, the other with Windows XP and IE 8.

I am using WP 3.5.1 with the Weaver II Pro theme. I’m wondering if this is a problem with the theme and plugin not getting along, although I don’t understand why it would only show up in IE.

After spending many hours trying to find a slideshow I like, I really don’t want to have to go back to searching some more, but I’ll have to if this can’t be resolved since I’m not the only person who will be accessing the admin, so I can’t limit it to using Firefox.

As for the original problem that led me to finding this one, when I go to Manage Slides (in Firefox), I cannot see all of the slides. Only four are visible on the list, and there are no page buttons/links or any other way I can find to show the rest.

Maureen, thanks for the well described bug!

It does indeed look like it might be a conflict with your theme seeing that the error is pointing to it’s directory. Being that I’m on a mac testing the admin on IE didn’t end up happening and I apologize for that. I did test on Firefox and I’m not seeing the “only 4 images” issue you’re seeing. I am on the other hand handling the “Manage Slides” section in a very different way than the previous release. I’m loading the images through an “Infinite Scroll” or “Lazy Load” so people no longer had to page through all their images, they could just scroll through and the images populate on the scroll. It could be a similar issue with your theme that is causing the javascript to break, thus not allowing the infinite scroll to happen. And IE is just more forceful about letting you know the issue.

Have you had a chance to look at this with FireBug? Notice any javascript errors?

Since I haven’t heard of this issue from anyone else I’m assuming its your theme/environment. I’ve fixed issues for gold supporters in the past on their own environments, but I’d need to have access to some logins. If you’re interested in going that route you could contact me through https://c-pr.es/contact

Thank you very much for your kind offer to help fix this. If this was a site for myself that I’m working on, I might take you up on your offer, but I’m building this for someone else, and I need to get it done and copied over to her Web site. Also, in testing the slideshow on my Android phone (by going to your example page), I found that it wasn’t working properly. Though I could see the images and the thumbnails, the slideshow itself was not working. Clicking on an image would bring up the next picture, but it would not scroll through them automatically, and the captions were not popping up.

I have gone a completely different route using WP jQuery Lightbox, which works on mobile devices, and laying the photos and captions out using a columns plugin that will collapse to a single column on small screens, something that WP’s gallery feature will not do. It’s not an ideal solution, but it will work.

Thanks again. What with all the plugins that are abandoned by their authors, it’s nice to find one with a conscientious author who will respond to questions and problems.

Thanks for the feedback, My phone hasn’t had any issues with auto rotation of images, I’ll try it on some more Android devices and see if I can find anything about why it sometimes doesn’t work.

    Thanks for the kind words!
