Yes, I’m way behind the times and am running into issues. The documentation I’ve seen doesn’t seem to cover a major jump from 2.0.1 to 3.2.1 (or whatever it is now).

I use WordPress via my hosting service Netfirms, and there’s now one-click installing of 3.2.1 into a new directory of my choosing. I’ve done that. Now, how do I move my 2.0.1 files over from the old (still active) directory, without screwing anything up? I understand that automatic upgrades came in much later.

I put a lot of work into my blog and don’t want to lose my extensive archives of entries.

Hi cwhaley, have you done a backup of your current blog? This is important just in case something goes wrong even though your active is in a different directory. If your blog is not too big you can try to export your blog and then import it into the new version. Then start adding all the plugins and add the theme, if your theme is not up to date you will have to update it.

You might also want to read this article https://codex.www.ads-software.com/Updating_WordPress.

    Kind regards
