Make a file available to download

  • On my website: https://www.rlugnynj.com, I have a page that used to carry two workable links to the same file (Feb_2014.pdf) in my File Manger (directory is wp-content/uploads). Link 1 would open the file and still works. Link 2 would download the file to the users pc. Link 2 is no longer working. What have I done to corrupt this? Code is below:

    Feb 2014 [download label=”(Down)”] https://www.rlugnynj.com/wp-content/uploads/Feb_2014.pdf [/download]

  • You can do this with a simple link tag.

    <a href="https://www.rlugnynj.com/wp-content/uploads/Feb_2014.pdf" download>

    Replace that on the page where the other code is. Just make sure you are in the Editor as Text, not Visual!
