Make a site with WordPress

Hi i’m a news user of WordPress. I had make my blog yesterday with it,but i want to make a site with wordpress and not a blog. I saw many sites made with wordpress,like this : nanoda.com
And my question is: how can i do a site with wordpress like the previous site? There is a tutorial? Thanks..and wordpress is great ??
