Make clicking on photo go to NEXT PHOTO IN GALLERY

How do I make WordPress do the following? I have tried 47 different themes and none of them can do this. Yes, forty-seven.

1. I put agallery in a post. I set it so the photos display as thumbnails.

2. When reader clicks on any thumbnail, they now see a large version of it (often on various websites it’s completely surrounded by black or maybe white or some neutral gray. Or maybe a transparent black or gray so the post itself is very dimly visible. I can’t swear I’ve ve seen this on WordPress sites. They could have been non-Wordpress )

3. Now when they click on that full-size photo, they get taken to the full-size view of the next photo in the gallery.

4. They can repeat that until reach the end of the gallery. Then ideally they get taken back to the post, but it would be acceptable if it cycles back to the first photo

5. At any time they can get back to the post by pressing one key, such as backspace or back-arrow or Escape. I don’t care as long as it’s a logical way to get back.

I absolutely cannot believe that almost no one out there besides me needs this feature. Most of those 47 themes just take you to the full-size photo and then the only thing you can do is backspace back to the post! They don’t let you cycle through the gallery.

“Twenty fourteen” and “Twenty thirteen” can do it but they are unusable for me, for other reasons.
