Make CoComment go away

  • Suddenly, I have a button for CoComment appearing in my blog. No idea where it came from or how it got there.

    After a lot of messing around I found that sometime today single.php in my current theme had been modified to includ ethe follwoing line

    <script id="cocomment-fetchlet" src="https://www.cocomment.com/js/enabler.js"></script>

    not by me.

    I assume that some plug in or other that I have been trialling was responsable. I thought I would post the problem and solution here in case someone else has the same problem.

    If anyone can help me track down the plug in make responsable so I can “share my thoughts” please let me know.

  • Firstly, if it’s a plugin you’re using, it’s not a problem! It’s probably part of the desired behaviour of that plugin.

    Check to see if you’ve got a CoComment plugin installed.

    If you want to be certain, disable all your plugins, then go through them one by one reactivating them.
