Make exact title matches appear at the top

  • Hi there

    When I search for something, if there is a page with that exact title, I want it to appear at the top, at the moment that is not happening, i’m guessing this is supposed to be how it works ? Is there a way to change it with the hooks.

    I have the premium version of the plugin, with fuzzing matching disabled, using AND for the default operator.

    Relevanssi returns the best result first. That may or may not be the post with the exact match in the title. There’s no bonus for an exact match, though, so some other post may be considered more relevant.

    If titles are important on your site, adjust the title weight up a lot –?make it 100, for example. See if that helps.

    If you want to force exact title matches on top of the results, that’s also possible. relevanssi_hits_filter filter hook gives you total control over search results. You can use it to move the results you want to the position you want –?it gives you the search results in an array, so you can move them around any way you want.
