Make homepage a video

    Exactly like https://www.airbnb.com, we want our homepage to have a video like this.

    Our theme supports this feature with YouTube and Vimeo videos; however they can be paused, the sound doesn’t mute properly, related videos show at the end, there is a loading symbol and videos take long to load.

    As you can see on airbnb.com videos load essentially instantly.

    Right now we are solving this by converting to .gif and using this as our sole slider image but the quality is lacking.

    Once again, we are looking for high-quality like airbnb.

    if you want to do this using the theme’s built in features and they’re not working for you then you need to visit the developer of the theme and quiz them as to what the problem is.

    alternatively, you could create a page, stick the video in it, make it your site’s homepage and bob’s your uncle. your theme may have different templates to choose from when creating the page so go for the one that looks the best.

    also, there are some very good plugins for handling video embeds that give you all sorts of controls over autoplay, sizing and much more.

    a combination of these things might achieve what you’re after ??
