make my email address a live link in widget menu

    i wanted to add a box in my right column, where i would offer people to send me an email if they want to sign up for my newsletter.
    I went to Appearance > widgets > dragged the text menu over and typed in my invitation/offer. BUT my email address is not a live hyperlink and I don’t know how to fix it !

    Please help !
