Make only some Tags visible to search engines

    Hi,

    I’m using YOAST SEO plugins for years, and I’m very happy with it. But now I have some problem, and not sure if YOAST SEO free or premium can deal with it.

    In general I want to exclude my tags from search results… but I have some tags that I would like to include in it. Can I do this somehow? Force YOAST to not including no-index to only selected tags?

    Thank you for reaching out.

    This should be doable. If you go to Yoast SEO → Search Appearance → Taxonomies (tab) → Tags (post_tag): Show Tags in search results? Set this to No. This would be the default for all tags not having a custom option set. Also, make sure to have Show SEO settings for Tags? to Yes.

    Then go to Posts → Tags. Edit the tag(s) you want to have indexed and scroll to the Yoast metabox. Under the Advanced tab, you can set the “Allow search engines to show this Tag in search results?” to Yes.

    This should then have the index meta tag on the tag archive, whereas the default for other tags would still have noindex.
