Make selections for right and left (with other SKUs)

Hi! I am currently creating a configurator for wheelchair wheels. Some components are different on the right and left and have their own SKUs. Is it possible to ensure that the end customer only makes the selection once and then both components (one each) end up in the shopping cart. I would also like to use full merchandise management.
