Make site private on 3.6.1

    I’d like to hide my site while I build it, and wordpress seems to have removed this option from the “reader” section in 3.6.1. Does anyone know how to do this with this WP version?

  • There was never an option to hide a site whilst it was being developed. Only an option to add a header to request that search engines did not index the site. That’s still available via Settings -> Reading.

    If you need something more than that, have a look at some of the maintenance mode plugins.
