Make the relative Facebook urls permanent in the gallery

Hello,
Since at this point it is a given that we can expect Facebook to change their URL scheme on almost a daily basis (please see issue: https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/photos-stop-working-after-only-a-few-days/), which then breaks the links to images in the gallery on our sites that use this plugin, is there a workaround that would ‘clone’ the images into local permananent urls so that the images stay on the website permanently, regardles of the ever changing relative urls of Facebook source images?
