• Hi, I hope someone can help me!

I have made my first WordPress site (theme Make). I was very proud when I was finished with my website: KOM FOTOGRAFEREN, because I have no knowledge of WordPress and CSS and little of HTML and still the site was working fine. So I thought… until friends told me the menu isn’t working with an iPad. ??

I have search on the internet for a solution. I understand the problem is because the hover function isn’t working on an iPad. There are also codes I found to solve the problem, but my knowledge is too little and I don’t know which code I have to use with theme Make and I don’t even know where to put it (in which file).

The menu seems to work on a Samsung tablet. On my iPhone the responsive mobile menu is working fine. On a desktop PC the menu also works fine.

I don’t want to change the layout or functionality of the devices which are working fine, I only want a working menu on the iPad. I hope one of you can help me in a way that even I can understand it. ??

    Thanks in advance!

    Thanks Corey!!!

I had – and solved –?the same problem.

Oddly enough, this seemed to be a cookies issue on my iPad mini running Safari. I had no problems with the Make mobile dropdown on Chrome on my iPad. But once I allowed Safari on my iPad to accept some cookies (instead of “Always Block”), my Make menu problems vanished.

So try this: On your iPad go to Settings > Safari > Block Cookies and then try different blocking options OTHER THAN “Always Block”

When I select “Allow from Websites I Visit” it fixed my Make menu problems.

Thanks for sharing this tip with the Make community, @bryanpfeiffer!

Bryan thanks for your tip, but for me it is not a solution! The problem is the visitors of my site can’t see the menu. And I cant tell them your tip, because I don’t know them. And even if I write it on the site (what is not what I want because it looks strange on my homepage), then they probably think it’s to much effort and they are probably going to look elsewhere.

@cory of Scott when is the update which fix this issue ready? Can you make an estimation?

    Thanks again.

Sorry, the ticket for this is still open. We will try and squeeze it into the next release, if possible.

Is there already a way to fix the problem Corey?

    Hi,
    On

    about.gunna-schmidt.info

My mobile menue burger does not work either. Since yesterday… Before it worked and opened as a list… I checked on i Pad air and 5s i phone…
What happened? How can I fix it?
    Thanks for solutions in advance…

    Hi Everyone,

I’m not sure how or whether this was resolved, but, as I recall, I traced this to a cookies issue with Safari. When I blocked all cookies on Safari (on my iPad or my laptop — they’re linked), I lost my Make menus on the iPad. So I think I had to change my cookie settings.

    Try that out.

    Best,
    Bryan

    Hi All,
since my problem is obviously not matching with Bryans solutions
2 WSs work on my mobile devices and 2 other WSs don’t work on not only my devices, as I wrote more detailed here:
“[Theme: Make] mobile menue does not open the menu list”
I come again to this thread hoping to find s.o. to solve my problem…

I almost dropped off “Make” due to this mobile menue problem, but it got me back again, since I really love it’s design freedom… and since I could luckily realize two Web-projects with it.

    All the best *G.

    Hi GKAS and bryanpfeiffer,

I have still the same problem. And for me there is no fix in the setting of cookies, because the problem isn’t that I can’t open the menu, the problem is that the visitors of my site can’t open the menu. I am still hoping op a fix, but it is 7 months ago that Corey answered… ??

    Best regards,

    Ellen

I think this thread has gotten a couple of different issues mixed up. The problem originally reported by @wolves has to do with navigation submenu items that are supposed to appear on hover not appearing correctly on some iPad models. Unfortunately, we have not found a reliable solution to that yet.

The other issue, mentioned by @gkas, has to do with the menu toggle button not working on their site. This is being addressed in this topic.
