I know it sounds extremely silly with this plugin not having an interface but I think it would be a nice feature if polygots can translate the description of this plugin to make this amazing plugin more accessible for worldwide users ??

I just commit required changes. It should be open for translations soon. Thanks for the suggestion!

    As a thank you for this… I 100% translated into Dutch ??

    Thanks for the Dutch translation!

How do I get myself approved as an editor for my own plugins? I sent a PTE request yesterday but until now no response.

    Hi freemp,

We are all volunteers, so it can take some time before you get a response on your request. I have not seen a PTE request coming by for locale nl_NL
Are you a native Dutch speaker?
For which locale did you request PTE?
    Regards,
    Peter

@freemp you need to put in some translations first so GTE’s or PTE’s (like myself) can check if you have mastered the language enough to be an editor for the languages.

Otherwise you can submit strings for verification by GTE’s or PTE’s.

Hi Peter, I was requesting for the ‘de’ locale for my plugins.
It, however, appears kind of strange to me that plugin authors cannot approve themselves for the languages they speak.

@freemp Well, that’s to avoid glossary mistakes/spam… I totally where you are coming from but ….

I think you might want to take a look at the link I provided you. It explains how you can ask for PTE access to your plugins. ??

    Happy translating!

@nekojonez I’m completely with you when it comes to languages I don’t speak. And as a plugin author I would not want that either, but I think I definitely should be able to grant editor rights at least for myself.

Thanks for the link. I already followed the instructions behind yesterday and posted corresponding requests for my plugins but they’re all in pending state.

    Hi freemp,

As indicated before we are all volunteers, and I know locale de is very busy. So be a bit patient. If you have translated your plugin for de it will be evaluated, and normally the author will get PTE access for his own projects. But only if there is proof that the quality of translation is OK.

You cannot grand rights yourselves, that can only be done by a GTE. At translate.www.ads-software.com, we maintain a certain quality standard e.g. glossary for the locale, and some specific rules for locale de. Locale de has two translations, default and formal. In formal we use “Sie” not in default.

@psmits1567 Yes, we’re all volunteers. So am I. Still, in my opinion, plugin authors SHOULD be able to grant editor rights for themselves.

    Sorry,

You are not correct with your statement, we have rules which you can read in the translator/development handbook. Only a GTE can do that!
It is your opinion, but to maintain consistency, it is necessary to let that happen in a structured way. Therefore are the procedures defined.
I hope that this helps you understand how the team on translate.www.ads-software.com works.
    Regards,

I would also advice you to join the german translation team on Slack. There you can ask questions if you encounter problems.

Peter, how can a statement with an opinion not be correct? You may disagree, ok, but declaring my valid opinion incorrect is going a bit too far.

You may have your opinion of course, but I explained that it does not work that way.
This is my final comment, you have to deal with how the WordPress community is working. So in your situation, you do not have the rights to assign yourselves the PTE rights, so you have to wait until you are evaluated.
    Have a nice weekend,
