• I am trying to get internal anchors to work, and having some trouble. The issue is the well know “Anchors that have no ‘there’ there get lost” when you switch editing modes. I would just anchor to the header of the section I want to jump to, but it seems like I get a link to just AFTER the target of the link, so the header is scrolled just off screen. I can manually put a “blank” anchor above the header and it works, until I change edit modes and then WordPress plays all Microsoft and thinks for me and @%#s it all up. I am tempted to get mediaeval and put a little white image there, on my white background, so now there is some there there and WP will stop being stupid. But that is such a ridiculous 90s solution I have to believe there is a better answer? Any joy?

  • Don’t try to add HTML markup using the Visual editor. That’s what the HTML tab is for. Don’t switch editing tabs either. That’s the fastest way to remove some (or all) of your markup. Pick a tab and stick to it.
