Make WP use FTP instead of PHP

  • My webhost (000webhost) caps PHP execution time at 10 seconds, causing things to become interrupted and corrupted and causing me lots of headaches. However, there is no cap on FTP connection time. How can I get WP to use FTP to do things like add/remove themes, etc. instead of PHP?
