Make Your WordPress Site Appear OFFLINE for Maintenance?

    Hello guys.

    I have an existing site on the root of my domain and I’m currently developing a new wordpress site in a private folder. When the time is right I want to transfer my blog to the root. Now I know how to do the transfer etc, it’s just…some of the things won’t be function until I fix them.

    So I need my site to appear in “maintanance” mode?

    How on earth do I do that?
