Makes access even easier

  • Installed WPS Hide Login and then tried to access my website e.g. worldinturmoil.com but the dashboard is immediately displayed without any login screen for username and password entry and displays worldinturmoil.com/wp-admin. Therefore no security at all.
    Currently WPS Hide Login is disabled.
    I am running Wordfence plugin which does a very good job of block attacks but generates loads of failed login attempt notifications. Could this be a conflict?

    Has anybody experienced this issue?

    Thanks for your response so far.

    I changed the /wp-admin to some other name e.g. trywed!!, and SAVED the change.

    I tried the above check on three computers, including one where I had not carried out any admin activity on the specific website. The effect described happened on all of them.

    Obviously the change had some effect by opening up the Dashboard without any security checks, i.e. Username and Password. However, do you mean literally logging out of the Admin area dashboard? But WordPress does not require such an action for any of the PlugIns which I use, it simply actions the changes made in a PlugIn without having to restart WordPress.

    I love this plug in.
    The only time that ever happened to me was because I was still logged in on another tab.
    try it in a new incognito window.

    OK great that worked.
    Used incognito in Chrome
    I was able to change the wp-admin.

    For what it’s worth, you should be fair and alter your rating in that case as it was a user error. ??

    If it was a user error it was created by some error in the WPS Hide Login Code which allowed/caused this to happen (I have never had this problem before, with other Plugins).
    Using the incognito mode in Chrome was the solution. Other respondents had suggestions so like me, they were also in the dark as far as I can see. Bill205 had the experience and was very kind to pass on the suggestion, which worked.
    Krammig, did you know of this Problem/Solution?
    Not sure if the developers know about this but I searched their support threads without success. If they do know about it they should highlight it.
    Now that it running properly, knowing the workaround, the Plugin works very well in operation.
    I gave it one star at the time as it was not working for me, cannot change this now.
