Making a menu link jump to a location with a page

I’m trying to make a one page website with the links in the navigation bar jumping to different sections within it. For example, if I click on “Contact” in the menu bar at the top, it will jump to the bottom of the page to the “Contact” section. I can’t figure out how to do it. Using id tags for the section and href links for the nav bar aren’t working.
