• Hello,
I have just found that editing content when I am viewing desktop mode does not carry over or save these changes to tablet or mobile mode. If you look at the page link above, the content (images and text) is very different viewed on a desktop to a mobile. The products shown (images, descriptions, links) are current on the desktop but in some cases 6 months old when viewed on a mobile. Everything I read seems to suggest that content edits should transfer across the 3 modes…edit one and it saves changes to all three. I stress that I am not talking about style or layout here. I have a layout that I do not want to change, just want to be able to edit the content as products change. How do I make my content edits carry across all 3 modes? Thanks Chris

  • Hi,

    Thank you for contacting us.

Please note that I’m seeing no difference between the desktop image and the mobile image as far as the images themselves, font and text size.

The slight differences in appearance may result from the the nature of the automatic changes that are set to all 3 views.

If you’re seeing any differences between your editor mobile/tablet/desktop modes and what you see on your live site, please try some of the troubleshootings steps outlined here.

If the issue persists, please send us screenshots of the differences you’re referring to.

Let us know if you need further assistance.

    Regards,

    Hi Gil,
I apologise because I do not think I explained the problem very well. I will try again.
3 months ago, we changed some of the models of kites we stock. We used to stock the Stinger but it was superseeded by the Twister as shown here in this screenshot taken in Desktop mode.
But if I look at the same part of the same page in Tablet or Mobile mode, it still shows the Stinger kite which was changed out 3 months ago.

The example you used was the second kite in our range, the ‘Prism’ which shows correctly in all 3 modes because it is still in our range and not edited a few months ago.
This also applies to kite number 3, the ‘Black widow’. Correct on all 3 modes as it was not edited. But kite number 4 should be ‘Flames’ as shown on the desktop mode. However if you look at 4th kite down on tablet or desktop mode it still shows the now-out-of-stock ‘Stuntmaster’.
Now all of these details pertain to the pages I see and edit on WP but the same thing appears on the live site…kite 1 on Mobile is old Stinger, not updated while kite 1 on Desktop is current Twister, correctly updated.
In other words, there seems to be no problem with WP updating correctly to live, the problem is something I am doing that is not editing all 3 modes as I edit content in Desktop mode.
I hope this gives you a cleared understanding of my problem.
    Thanks
    Chris
p.s. I’ve never added a link to a post before so I hope the 2 above actually work ??

    Hi,
    An update
Because customers were getting confused I had to manually update each of Tablet and Mobile mode this morning for this page to stop losing customers so the examples I have given in the post above are no longer current. Please ignore those examples and see this new example below.
I have used the kite item that is on the fourth row, left side and created it as STUNTMASTER name with text addressed to Gil and it looks like this in Desktop mode.
Now if you look at the same item on Tablet mode (Number 7 on the list) it looks different…different image, different name (MadDog Trick Kite) and no message to Gil. The same thing is seen in Mobile mode.
In other words, I am doing something wrong that stops content edits in one mode being transfered to the other 2 modes. Thanks Chris
