Making featured content "static"

    Hi there!

    I would like to ask if it’s possible to make the featured content on the Home page “static”.

    What I mean is,
    I’ve got 4 categories on my web site. Every time I upload a post with the chosen tag, the post will appear on the featured content.

    But if I upload 4 posts in the same category, the featured content will only show the posts from that category.

    Is is possible to divide the featured content area into 4 separated areas and link each 4 of those areas to each category in such a way that when I upload a post it only replaces the previous post of that same category?
    Basically instead of 1 featured content area for everything, 4 different ones for each category!

    Hello Jmoura,

    Although that is very doable I’m afraid to say that given the amount of coding that will be involved, its something I’m not going to attempt to include in this particular theme.

    I may however visit the idea either via a child theme or a companion plugin – again given the amount of coding it will involve that won’t be for sometime yet.

    Sorry for having to say no this time round but if you’d like some pointers in attempting it yourself then ask away and I’ll do my best to explain as much as possible.

    Thanks for your answer and I understand you do not have the time for it.
    unfortunately I do not have the knowledge and skills to work with child themes and create code!
