• I’m building my personal site ( https://bensullivancreations.com/ ) and I’ve been trying to make the entire thing responsive for different screen sizes. I’ve got a 1600×230 image uploaded to Appearance > Header, and this works fine on a 1920×1080 screen, but when the screen size is smaller, e.g. 1366 wide, the site width shrinks but the header image just gets cut off.

Is there a way I can add the header with CSS instead of the built-in header upload function? I think it would be easiest to display a different image for each screen size.

  • You are NOT using the original 2013 theme. If you had been, you wouldn’t have this problem as 2013 was built as a responsive theme right from the start.

Well I’m using a child theme of 2013, but shouldn’t it still have the responsive code from the parent?

What happens if you use the parent theme?

It breaks pretty badly, the header is partly off the page on the left side and the page spans the whole browser width.
