Making it work with Jetpack Lite

I tried activating Jetpack Lite along with Slim Jetpack and I get the message ‘Jetpack is active. Slimjetpack cannot be used together with Jetpack!’

I tried disabling the is_jetpack_active check in slimjetpack.php but then I get a blank page with no message at all.
Probably there are more checks throughout the plugin – or it is Jetpack Lite that refuses to play along. Any ideas?
