• I am new to websites, so please help me out.

I have a website that is has two ongoing blogs going for different programs that I run. What I am trying to do is add my posts only to one of the pages at a time.

For example I wrote a Post for Page 1. But this post shows up on Page 1 and 2 as well as the home screen. Is there a way to only have it displayed on one page?

  • I’m not sure if I understand correctly what you’re trying to do, but I think using categories should help. You assign one category to each page, and then assign your posts to the right category.

Regarding the homepage, if you don’t want your posts to show up on the homepage, you should go to Settings—>Reading and setup a static page to show up on the homepage.

I will try to explain again. I have 4 different pages for my website. One is called Weekend Program and the other is called School Program. I am trying to keep updated posts for those two pages. Right now, whenever I create a new post (for the Weekend Program) it shows up on both posts.

I created categories and checked them of Weekend program, but it still shows up on the Weekend and School Program Pages.

Can you post a link to your site, please?

I can see the problem, but as I said earlier, you need to ‘assign’ each category to one page.

Basically, what you’re doing now is assigning a category to each of your posts, but both pages are simple blogs posting all categories.

You need to change each page template to display only one category.

I never worked on Genesis, so I don’t know if there is any easy way to do this from the backend, or if you need to change it directly in the html.

I’m sure someone who knows Genesis will come around and help.

Okay. Thank you for your time and advice. I appreciate it and hopefully will hear from a Genesis person soon.
